VORTEX geocodes and maps 15,000+ conflict events across six active zones. Each event is sourced from ACLED (Armed Conflict Location & Event Data) and cross-referenced with Bellingcat verified reports for Ukraine.

Events are categorized by type (battles, explosions, violence against civilians, protests, strategic developments) and plotted with date, location, actors involved, and fatality counts. The timeline slider filters by date range. Heatmap mode shows concentration patterns.

Yemen and Red Sea layers include Houthi maritime attacks with global shipping route overlay from IMO AIS data. Conflict zones: Ukraine, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Myanmar, Afghanistan.
